Nikwax® Rug Wash™ is an easy to use natural vegetable-based soap cleaner, and is a safe way to thoroughly clean your waterproof animal rugs and coats to help optimise their performance and extend their useable life.
If the breathability of your rug is impaired, your animal can get clammy and uncomfortable in wet or damp conditions, and if the outer fabric begins to absorb water, the rug can lose up to 70% of its breathability. The Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of the outer fabric of the rug needs to be maintained for your animals comfort. Using Nikwax® Rug Wash™ will revitalise the DWR and therefore the breathability of your animals rug.
How To Use
For Use in a Washing Machine - Remove all detergent build up from the detergent dispenser. for any stubborn stains use neat Rug Wash™ and scrub with a sponge or soft brush before washing. Place 1 item in the washing machine (1 item per load). Use 150ml of Nikwax® Rug Wash™ per item. Wash according to the care label on the item.
For Use by Hand Washing - Use neat Rug Wash™ with a sponge or soft brush on stubborn stains before washing. Using gloves, spread the rug out on a clean area and wet thoroughly using a hose pipe. Dilute 1 part Rug Wash™ with 2 parts hot water. Use a brush to scrub the solution into the fabric paying attention to soiled and dirty areas. Rinse thoroughly in clean water.
Following the use of Rug Wash™, any waterproof items should be treated once a year with Nikwax® Rug Proof.
