The fulmer is always a great bit for the younger horse needing help with direction and control, also useful for schooling the older horse to help give him extra focus. Fulmer loops are required to attach the bit to the cheekpiece to stop the Fulmer cheek from rotating down. This also helps with the stability in the action of the bit. Always try out a new bit in the prescence of an experienced friend or trainer as you cannot always factor for how a horse will react.
