The Baucher works by providing some mild pressure on the horses poll, which in turn encourages lowering of the head, helped by the angled mouthpiece that lifts off the tongue, becoming much more comfortable for the horse. Altogether your horse should feel much happier in his mouth, meaning he is much less likely to resist, and a consistent contact can be achieved.
